Andy at the Market

While I was busy working in London the success at Basildon Village Market is down to my partner Andy. I think he secretly enjoyed it. Shame I don't have a photo!
Yet again the Liqueurs went down well, this time the Chocolate liqueur. It's delicious on Ice-cream.

You will find Delights of Tuscany next at Cirencester this Thursday 31st March.

Limoncello Cocktail

This recipe was sent to me by Samantha who I met at the Pangbourne Village Hall market I did. Great that she remembered to send this and I will definitely be trying it out. I hope she sends another recipe with the Orancello!
"
2 fresh lemons
One shot limoncello (approx 50ml)
One shot triple-sec (we like Cointreau or Grand Marnier – again approx 50ml)
Handful of crushed ice

Method: Remove the peel and all pith from the lemons, segment the flesh and remove any pips. Blitz the lemon flesh, limoncello and cointreau with the ice in a food processor or blender. (Nigella adds sugar to her recipe but we don’t think it needs it – particularly if you have a good quality limoncello.) Scale up the quantities to suit the number of cocktails you need - this is a very popular cocktail with our family and friends!

We have thoroughly enjoyed the limoncello we bought from your stand, and I am just about to email your website to put an order in for another bottle, and one of the orange variety too!"

Thank you to Samantha, :-)

Next Market

Don't miss our next market day this Saturday 26th March at Basildon Village Hall, Berkshire. Andy will be there in place of me this week but knows all the products just as well as I do as he gets to taste them first!

Basildon Village Hall
Bethesda Street (opposite junction with Blandys Lane)

La Dolce Vita

I popped along with my friend Joyce to La Dolce Vita exhibition in London, it was great to see so many people there all enjoying the delights of Italian food. Both of us have a passion for Italy and especially Tuscany, Joyce has a beautiful Villa in a village called Pomaia where she welcomes groups to stay and learn all about Bargello Stitching.
Go to bargellobreaks.com and take a look at her beautiful artwork.
Pomaia is also known for the Tibetan-Buddhist monastery of Lama Tsongkhapa, Richard Gere has spent many holidays in this meditation retreat!

my apartment is also ready for the spring and summer rentals.

Pangbourne quality market

Today I did my first quality market at Pangbourne. I was next to Louise Brazell who makes her own glass beads. Check out Tiger Beads http://www.tigerbeads.co.uk/

Being the first for the year it was quite slow. Although the Limoncino (Limoncello)went down a storm, it's quality!
I was also given tips from customers who make Limoncino cocktails, one customer was going to put it on his pancakes next Tuesday! fab ideas. Try the Orange equivalent next time. I will be at Pangbourne quality market the first Saturday of the month.
